Changes

Ibu Shinji stared in some surprise at the young man at his door; at one time, he'd looked like his twin, with long dark brown hair. Sometime at the beginning of the summer, however, Ryou had let Niou Masaharu at it, and he now had dark blue and platinum blonde streaks in it. "I… that's really odd," he said, and Ryou grinned.

"Yeah. I wanted a change, and it did what I wanted. Is Atsushi in?"

Shinji shook his head. "He's not. What's up?"

Ryou grinned. "I don't know, but he asked me to drop some of this by next time I was around." He gave Shinji a box of strawberry pocky.

Shinji took it, brow furrowed. "I didn't know he liked it," he said.

Ryou shrugged with a grin. "I don't know if he does, either, but he wants it for something. I'll talk to you later." He waved and headed back down the hall to the stairs out of the apartment building.

Shinji watched him go, then shut the door and went for his phone. Atsushi's cheerful voice answered, and Shinji had to smile at it. "Hey. Ryou just stopped by with a box of pocky. Why?"

Atsushi sighed. "I'd hoped he come by when I was home. Mom wants to know what is going on."

"What is going on?"

"He's avoiding her."

Shinji bit his tongue, and then sighed. "When are you coming home?"

"I'll be there in a bit. Don't eat all that," he added with a grin. "I want some."

Shinji hung up and eyed the box, before putting it carefully away and going in to study.
