Salt

Tifa tasted the stew and hissed in frustration; she'd put in too much salt. Turning from the stove, she slammed through the kitchen, looking for milk or a potato, she didn't care which, but found neither.

With a long suffering sigh, she sat down at the kitchen table and put her face in her hands. Was it really all that big a deal? It was just dinner….

Yeah, dinner. With everyone - including Cloud, and she'd wanted it to be something nice, warm because it was chilly outside, and plentiful.

It was all that, but there was too much salt, and it would be horrid, because there wasn't even milk to drink to make it palatable. Finally, she got up, grabbed her wallet, and headed for the market; if she was lucky, she'd get home before they did.

She wasn't; when she got back, she found them all settled around the kitchen and living room, bowls of warm stew in hand. She set the milk down and began pouring.

Cloud leaned close to her, after she'd passed the glasses around and gotten her own bowl, settling next to him on the couch. "Good stew," he said with a fond look. "Never had better."

She took a bite - and wondered who had saved it, because she hadn't made this.

Cid caught her eye and winked.
