Author's Notes: Eh. Not one of my favorites.

"Just run!" Tifa yelled, and promptly collapsed back to the flower bed, unconscious before she hit the ground.

When she woke next, Cloud's voice was in her ears, calling her name, and there was warmth against her right arm and across her back. "You're late," she mumbled, and struggled to open her eyes. The shapes in the stained glass windows were blurred from the sunlight and her own stubborn eyes.

"Who did this?" Cloud asked, sounding caught between outrage and concern.

"He didn't say, she said, but then she remembered the strange phone call, and the ominous "I'll bring the girl" the man she'd fought had said, after insisting he wasn't crying. She lunched upward. "Marlene!" she cried, but her head suddenly ached, and she wasn't sure anymore which way was up. She sagged back into Cloud's arms.

But she felt Cloud stiffen, then his arm trembled, as her consciousness faded.
