Author's Notes: There's only so much of this movie, and I feel like I'm repeating myself. Whatever works.

The water was… the perfect temperature. There was something gentle about it, cradling him as he put his feet down and stood up. Confused at even being here - how had he gotten here, anyway, last thing he remembered was jumping with the last of his strength….

Wait. Fire, and pain, and then… nothing.

"It's like she said," said the child he was looking at without seeing. "Wait here and Cloud will come back."

He just stared at her, not understanding her at all.

"Welcome back," Marlene said, and he looked up to find her.

And found them all: Yuffie, Cid, Tifa and Denzel, Vincent, Marlene and Barret and Cait, and Nanaki. Waiting patiently for him to get himself together and do… something.

He felt much better. He was still tired; the last two days had been grueling. But the searing pain was gone, the fatigue that kept him from wanting to move…. It had gone with the stigma. And he felt alive again, like he hadn't for the past… who knew how long.

"I'm back," he said quietly.
