Lately, that meant without Cloud. Today, however, it really meant by herself. Marlene was gone, kidnapped by that brute she'd fought yesterday, and Denzel, according to Reno and Rude, had also been taken by Kadaj's gang. Hopefully, they had no reason to lie to her.

At least she'd actually seen Cloud, instead of hearing a pre-recorded voice on the phone. It had been hard, though, to see him so utterly defeated. But he was off after the kids, and maybe….

She pushed the plate away, no longer hungry. Then the sound of a crowd caught her attention and she went to investigate, glad of the distraction.
