He'd actually been surprised his keys still worked.

She lay so still; she must have been exhausted. The bar had closed late tonight, and it had been full until she kicked everyone out. He could just make out her eyelashes on her cheek, since the moon shone in, and he wanted so badly too…

He realized he'd stepped into the room and froze.

No. No, it was better that she forget him, that she not know what was wrong…

Pain lanced up his arm and he winced. Time to go before the following fatigue made it impossible to move. He strode down the hall to the stairs, pretending he didn't hear her call.

"Cloud?"
